Evidently technology is helping students to achieve both academic and non-academic goals. On the other side we should also know that it is a greater source of distraction to many students. tones of discipline are required when using technology, be it at school, home or work.

Most students like playing games, watching videos, etc. during class and study times. I know you know very that this practice distracts you but you still find yourself doing it. Here is what you have to follow to avoid being impacted negatively by technology.
1.  Put your phone on silent, place it in your bag or give it to your friend.
Here the role of your study buddy emerges again. Make sure that you don’t sit close to your friend in class. This eliminates the chance of chatting plus it will make it impossible for you to get your phone back before the right time.

2.  Turn off internet
If you are studying using your computer turning your internet off will help to eliminate some of the distractions. YouTube won’t be able to be able to send a stupid notification of a stupid person X  doing  stupid thing Y.
If you plan to study information which you haven’t downloaded yet, you should download the necessary material before study time so that you don't get distracted by useless notifications during study time.

3.    Inform your contacts about your busyness
Tell your boyfriend or girlfriend, mom, dad or who so ever might distract you that you are going to be busy. Therefore they shouldn’t call or send any message during study time.

4.      Switch to do not disturb mode or use distraction blocking apps or
On IPhone you have to swipe up from your home screen to access the basic setting and click on the moon shape.

On android pull the notification drawer and swipe down for the second time to access the settings then turn the don’t disturb function on.

Applications such as ad guard, block all ads so that you won’t see fake news, scam ads and all those annoying adverts.

Applications such as unplugged will enable you to set times for specific tasks.it will inform you when it’s time to take a break or time to work so you can put the phone down.

5.  Use airplane mode
Finally the airplane mode is another way to avoid distraction. it blocks every communication .i.e calls, text and internet (mobile data and WiFi)
